What should each child bring to camp everyday?
- Lots to drink
- Rain Gear (if raining)
- Change of Clothes
- Positive Attitude
- Bathing Suit, Towel & Sunhat
What should not be brought to camp at all?
- Toys (i.e. video games, hockey cards, water guns, etc)
- Any peanut products (including peanut butter)
What other information can NEBCA give parents and guardians?
Please notify the Project Manager at the school at 778-883-6143 if your child will be absent.
For safety reasons, children are picked up and dropped off at the back of the school.
Children must be dropped off NO EARLIER than 9:00 am and picked up NO LATER than 3:00 pm. There is a $5.00 charge every 15 minutes, before and after regular camp hours.
Please allow a 10 to 15 minute delay due to traffic on the afternoons of the Out-trips (field-trips).
How do I contact the program during Fun Rec camp time (July 3rd to August 10th)?

Do you have a Before & After Hour's program?
No, unfortunately we do not at this time. We ran a pilot program in 1998, and found that attendance was very low. We are unable to qualify for government subsides because we do not run a facility all year round. If there were a large enough need in the community, NEBCA would run a program. Who are the Leaders this year? Are the same great people coming back from last year?
My child with special needs would really enjoy a day camp experience, can they join Fun Rec?
Yes, we have a program in place that places 12 children with special needs alongside their friends and classmates. With the addition of Special Needs Leaders to our summer staff we know this will be the best recipe for an exciting experience for many children in the community.
Pre-registration is required so please call 664-8852 early.
What types of Special Needs children are accepted into Fun Rec?
Most children can participate in Fun Rec. We do go through a screening process to find out what the level of care is for each child. We are not able to involve children with severe needs. Fun Rec staff can oversee children taking medication but staff members cannot give a child medication.
Do you have a pre-school program?
No, there isn't a pre-school day camp program at this time. We have had half-day programs in the past. If there were a large enough need in the community, NEBCA would run a program. Send us an email or write a note to express your interest.
